Summer Has Affected The Garden Plants

The super hot summer this year has affected the beloved garden plants at McKinney gardens as well. Many of the garden plants from the garden have perished in the heat but Master Gardener Neil Sperry says there is no need to panic yet.
According to Neil, only the people who have brought their garden plants from the North are struggling in the Texas conditions. The adaptive garden plants when watered correctly are surviving just fine. The strict water restrictions tend to make gardeners choose between their precious garden plants or foot high water bills. For people who choose to let some plants go, should prioritize water usage among the plants by their value. Neil recommends watering the plants with deep soaking with small amounts compared to light soaks in large amounts as it uses the same amount of water but gives better efficiency.
For those who have problems finding proper water usage, smart controllers are a good option which will determine the water to be used according to the weather data and moisture sensors.
